Ontario Storm Spotter Program
Canada's first Storm Spotter Volunteer Program
PROTEX Weather is the first of its kind in Canada to run a fully public Storm Spotter Volunteer Program.
Our talented storm spotters networked across the province confirm in the field what satellites and radars see in the atmosphere, giving the public a second set of eyes at ground zero. This aids in improving lead times and the warning process as a whole, allowing more accurate watches and warnings to be issued to the public - building safer communities and saving lives/property in the process.

Who is eligible and how do I get started?
PROTEX encourages anyone over the age of 16 with an interest in weather and/or community service to join the OSSP. Volunteers include dispatchers, emergency service workers, photographers, meteorologists, highschool/university students and general citizens.
